Fuel Drum Lifter

Abstract

Fuel drum lifter is essential in order to move a heavy drum from one place to another. The load of a 55 gallon fuel drum would be too much too move without the aid of any mechanism. Therefore, we created the fuel drum lifter to help in carrying out the duty of moving the drums. With this mechanism, there will be no problem in transporting even the fully loaded 55 gallon drum. This project is built from scratch and it is done by hand by undergoing the process of measuring, drawing, cutting, welding and painting. Along the process of completing the project, we learn that the proper procedure is very important as it will affect the quality of the project and our personal safety. Therefore, the project is done with a proper procedure to ensure its durability. As MIAT does not have drum lifter, as an alternative, a forklift is used to carry the drums. This lead to an increase fuel consumption and the maintenance cost to maintain the forklift itself. This is the reason a fuel drum lifter is very important as it can carry out the task without the need of fuel and maintenance.
