dc.description.abstract The purpose of this study is compare the characteristic of composite and metal which is fibers and steel. In this research, the report briefly explained about the type of fiber which is made to be a composite. Comparison of composite and steel will be explain by running a test called three point bending test. The stress and strain value is compared by its strength. This research is done with three types of fiber that is fiberglass, carbon fiber and kapok. Each of this fiber is one of the material used to create a composite drain grating. The discussion about the advantages and disadvantages of composites and steel will be described at the end of the research. en_US
