Title: Economic Analysis On Removal Spoiler On Boeing 727
Authors: Mohd Yusouf Bin Nordin
Issue Date: 26-Nov-2013
Abstract: The purpose of this research is to propose another step to do the maintainability prediction for an aircraft component. In this research, the author shows how to determine the quantity of the difficulties of the aircraft component. The author are use historical data or information such as Services Difficulties Reports (SDR). By using this data based on Joint Aircraft System/Component Code (JASC). This research attempts to determine the time of maintenance by using MILHDBK-472. This military handbook consist of four procedures which is Procedures I, Procedures II, Procedures III and Procedures IV. But this research are using procedures III to determine the time cause of the Procedures III are using scores value to determine or calculate the time as shown as the Table 2-1.This research consists of two elements. The first is to identity and analyse historical data. The second is to identify existing maintainability prediction methodologies and propose an improved methodology. The 5 years’ data from Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) SDRS data of aircraft Boeing 727 were collected and analysed in accordance with the proposed methodology before the processes of maintainability allocation and prediction were carried out. This research also attempt the comparazation of realtime and the calculation time. This comparazation has proposed the potentially methodology to reduce time of maintainability of an aircraft.
