Authors: AHMAD FAIZ BIN ZAMHURI, Bachelor of Engineering Technology (Hons.) in Electrical
Issue Date: 9-Dec-2019
Abstract: Renewable energy is becoming increasingly popular in Malaysia at present. Solar, hydro, coal and biomass are among the renewable energy sources used in Malaysia. Solar energy has been the best response for renewable energy sources over the past few decades. Solar PV has been widely used in recent years to convert solar power into electricity. Solar panels must be in accordance with the position of the sun in order to obtain optimum output power from solar energy. This project's goal is to design an automatic tracking system where the position of the sun can be detected. This sensor system will move the solar panel to get an optimal angle with the sun to gain maximum power throughout the day. The LDR sensor is used in this system. Light detection, microcontroller, engine gear system and solar panel are among other items used. The resulting power output is more than the untracked solar panel as a result of this system.
