Abstract: In general, a safe work environment will increase the level of proactive work. No matter what type of size of work, safety at work is one of the most important requirements for all employees. Safety measures need to be taken to protect the workers and the surrounding equipment. Every workplace should be concerned about identifying workplace safety issues as a first step in protecting employees. Common occupational safety concerns include ergonomics, the presence of hazardous chemicals, mechanical problems, noise pollution, limited visibility, danger of fall and weather-related hazards. In this research, aimed of the study is to identify the safety of employees during works. In addition, this research is more focused on the maritime sector about the safety of workers. This study has also provided some ways to improve the company's performance in the face of a workplace accident problem. Therefore, some methods have been used in this study to collect data. Data is taken in a way of distribute the questionnaire and a total of 235 employees in Shipyard Company are choose to be a respondents in this research. After that, data analysis is by using chi-square test in Statistical Package for Social Science (SPSS) tools. After the data is taken, the result shows that the shipyard company has faced the problem of the hazard. This analysis find when majority of the respondents are agreed about the factor which has been raised in questionnaire. However, there are some recommendations have been made to reduce the risk of accidents at the workplace.
