Abstract: The increasing electricity billing cost factors had been determined where most of the users are not aware of their total power consumption. When they are not aware of the total power used, they will tend to waste their electricity therefore leading to increasing of billing cost. This proposal describes about the Development of Energy Consumption Device. In general, this device is used to measure the power of energy consumed by the single phase AC load and to convert it to Ringgit Malaysia. This device is low in cost, suitable for domestic usage, and user friendly. For some applications, this device can measure the energy used by any electrical home appliances such as television, fan, heater, refrigerator and many more. In this project, there is liquid crystallizes display (LCD) to display readings, buttons for the navigation of the menu. All the buttons are labelled accordingly to the function. The plug and socket uses are also with SIRIM approval. This device uses Arduino UNO to convert the power consumption to the exact price. Simulation using ISIS Proteus Professional software will be performed.
