Title: CORRELATION STUDY BETWEEN SPEECH AND MUSCLE LOCATIONS DURING RECITATION OF RUQYAH USING EMPIRICAL MODE DECOMPOSITION (EMD)
Authors: ROSUHANA BINTI RAHIM
Issue Date: 28-Nov-2018
Abstract: This study investigated the best muscle location for the measurement and extraction of Electromyogram (EMG) features, in representing the recitation of Ruqyah. Ruqyah is a collection of verses, taken from the specific verse in the Quran, which is used by Muslims, in the form of meditation to reduce stress and depression. The correct recitations of Ruqyah requires the use of specific muscles correctly. In this study, ten muscle locations related with speech utterance will be investigated. A total of 2380 EMG and 595 speech have been recorded. All recording will undergo a preprocessing process before their features are extracted. Empirical Mode Decomposition (EMD) will be used to extract these features. The quality of each extracted features will be measured using Total Hilbert-Huang Spectral Entropy and Kullback–Leibler Divergence. Finally, in this research, the location of the four best muscle has been identified.
