Title: A STUDY ON THE LETTER OF CREDIT OPERATIONS, FROM BANK'S PERSPECTIVE

Abstract: Letter of credit is mostly used in international trade globally. It has been facilitating international trade since early 1990s and it has evolved since then. It is also the most chosen payment method in trade financing as compared other methods like documentary collection and open account. This study will identify what are the factors that influencing the effectiveness of letter of credit and to study what happens when there are discrepancies in upon documents presentation in letter of credit operations. An assistant manager from CIMB Bank Berhad has been interviewed for this study purpose and the data collected from the interview session is presented using qualitative data analysis method or also known as coding analysis.
