dc.description.abstract This paper investigates the effect of using different gasoline-ethanol blend on SI engine performance. A four stroke, single cylinder SI engine (type HONDA, EX5 100) with different main jet was used for conducting this study. By using ten different percentage ethanol-gasoline blend and three different main jet size. Performance test were conducted for fuel consumption, brake thermal efficiency, brake power, engine torque and specific fuel consumption. Using ethanol-gasoline blend with different percentage of fuel at full throttle opening position and variable engine speed ranging from 2000 to 8000. The result showed that blending unleaded gasoline with ethanol increases the engine torque and brake thermal efficiencies and fuel consumption, while it decreases the brake specific fuel consumption. The 30 vol% ethanol in fuel using main jet 80 gave the best results for all measured parameters at all engine speed. en_US
