Abstract:
The primary objective of the project development of the new type underwater enclosure by different materials is carried out to reduce the weight of the underwater vehicles. In this project, basic requirement of underwater enclosure design is low weight but high strength, the material selection and stress distribution must be properly justify with numerical analysis.Finite element method can be applied in design process in order to analyse the stress distribution of component during the operation. For this project, the composite will be used as a material for this underwater enclosure. These types that have been studied were Fibre-reinforced composite or FRP or glass-fibre reinforced plastics FGRP. In this concept, fibre composite serves as a component that can withstand the high pressure. For the analysis method,ANSYS Workbench provides all necessary functionalities for the analysis of layered composite structures. This method when using Ansys Workbench when do the analysis such are problem specification, problem description, build geometry, define materials, generate mesh, apply loads or pressure, obtain solution and review result. For this project, we will analysis the strength of the material the AUV enclosure and the effect for this design when it is under pressure at 300m underwater.
