dc.description.abstract The thesis report describes some results of research in the area of twin spark ignition engine. The potential of twin park plug spark ignition engine is assessed by studying its performance characteristics relative to the single spark plug ignition engine using gasoline as fuel. A new twin spark plug spark ignition head cylinder has been developed by introducing two spark plugs at suitable locations. Experiments were conducted at different engine speed (Rpm) from 2000 to 9000. The results have shown that performance of twin spark plug engine is comparatively better than the conventional single plug ignition engine under different rpm. The results have shown considerable performance improvement in power output and thermal efficiency, as well as reduction in Brake Specific Fuel Consumption (BSFC) in dual plug mode of operation en_US
