dc.description.abstract Sand casting, also known as sand molded casting, is a metal casting process characterized by using sand as the mold material. The term "sand casting" can also refer to an object produced via the casting process. Over 70% of all metal castings are produced via this process. Mold Compactors are essentially “Vibrating Tables” of a much more rugged design. The “pattern” which shapes the casting is already inserted in the Mold. Sometimes it is made of wax so it will melt and evaporate when the hot molten metal is poured into it. The need for compaction is to ensure the Mold sand fills every nook and crook around the surfaces of the installed pattern. In this research, the student made research on preparing the Mold for sand casting using vibrating table and identify the suitable sand composition for sand casting using vibrating table. The prepared Mold is set down on the top of the vibratory machine with different amplitude. The entire Mold is then vibrated as necessary for it to achieve the wanted degree of densification. en_US
