dc.description.abstract Develop a model marine propulsion system for teaching aid is the main basis of this project. On board ship, the system that has the main role to move the ships is propulsion system, but, when it comes to education purposes, the development of this system as teaching aids is still not much. The objective of the final year project is to develop the model marine propulsion system for teaching aid with the advantages of a portable, easy to handle and low cost as it is made of recycled and low-cost materials and the most importantly is to make sure this product can help student to increase their knowledge about the propulsion system. A research has been done about the basics propulsion system. As the workers nowadays not have the basic idea of the propulsion system, it is tricky for them to works in industries without the knowledge. Regarding this challenge, we agreed to create a product for teaching aids which meets this requirement. A research also be done to find the suitable design and materials used for the project to make it much reliable as a teaching aids. Technical knowledge and skills such as cutting, wiring, coding, customize, and soldering is needed to complete the project. The main materials used to make the propulsion system are shaft, propeller, motor and main materials used to makes the hull of the stern part are marine plywood and cement due to its durability and similarity to make the propulsion it the most suitable materials to meet purpose of teaching aids. The main materials used to make the display table is mild steel square hollow bar due to its strength, easy to handle and welding. There are some problems faced during the process to complete this project but has be handled smoothly. This product is then tested to determine its capability and effectiveness. en_US
