dc.description.abstract Coastal erosion is not a new problem that has caused damage to ecosystem and local communities. Coastal erosion is a natural disaster phenomenon that occurs almost every year on the East Coast and West Coast of Peninsular Malaysia and Morib Beach is one of area that currently happen coastal erosion. The purpose of this research is to identify the cause of coastal erosion, the prevention and perception of local communities towards the coastal erosion at Morib Beach. For research method, the researcher uses quantitative methods. The instrument that will used in this research to collect data are questionnaires survey, interview respondents and observation at Morib Beach. Based on the finding, 88.7% of respondents agree that natural phenomena is the cause of erosion which is waves and most of respondents said they aware that there is an existence of erosion at Morib Beach. The researcher also stated that level of erosion at Morib Beach is under moderate threat, which is that area will be expected endangered for the next 5 to 10 years if authorities did not take an action accordingly. Therefore, the authorities already build 2 sea defences which are sea wall and concrete revetment at Morib Beach in order to protect the coastline from continuing erode. en_US
