Abstract:
This project intends to assist water sport player during water sport activities. The
objective is to develop the programming code for the Arduino controller which control project
portable speed display and to test run the system on one water sport activities (example:
kayaking).
The focus is for water sport activities player who get limited device to present the
present measurement in real time of speed. This problem occurs nowadays in most universities,
where is the water sport player being estimated their performance by using time taken from
one spot to another spot.
This project is being developed using Arduino (IDE) software to monitor the
application process by editing the program in Arduino software and can be uploaded to the
Arduino microcontroller via a power jack cable. The working concept that GPS satellites
transmit their locations to the receiver on the ground each second and the receiver to calculate
the speed by translating the difference between the two latitude / longitude measurement units.
The basic design technology used is the Arduino Uno board with modules attached to the GPS
system, the 9V rechargeable battery and the OLED 128X64 I2C IIC Serial SSD1306 screen
unit.
As conclusion, this project expected to give much benefit and contribution to the water
sport activities. It is believed that this project implementation has a great potential impact in
the future and if the prototype function in line with the objectives, more features will be added
to improve the project operation.
