THE PERCEPTION OF PENANG PORT ON IMPLEMENTATION OF FOLDABLE CONTAINER

Abstract

These researches are about the perception of Penang Port on implementation of Foldable Container. Foldable container is a new and advanced technology that has been introduced in the shipping industry. It is a sophisticated and convenient technology in which it can be folded when not in use and opened when used. Therefore, the foldable container can attract commercial attention where the foldable container can meet the technical and logistic requirements have been requested by the user. The implementing of these new technologies such as Foldable Container can further increase productivity in ports. This research is to investigate the perception towards implement this new technology to replace the existing technology. The finding is supported by survey, using questionnaires to get the data. The respondent from stafff’s at Penang Port. Based on studies that have been carried out by the researcher, there are many positive feedback received on the use of foldable containers. Hence, it is a new and technologically advanced initiative to be used today. Furthermore, these researches also suggest that hope this new technologies such as Foldable Containers can be implemented in industrial ports at Malaysia. Especially for ports that operate container services such as Penang Port. Additionally, by implement this new technology in ports at Malaysia to ensure the development of our country's standing with other countries.
