Abstract:
Shipbuilding is important in maritime industry especially ship construction and
ship repair. This research addresses the possible consequences of modular
shipbuilding construction in maritime industry. Maritime industry is an important
in shipbuilding construction including efficiency of technology to create a strong
of economic growth. This study is to identify the effectiveness of modular
shipbuilding construction process and to identify the awareness of workers at
the Shipyard Company in shipbuilding modular construction. According Aziz
Abdullah (2011), state that “with the construction traditional method shipbuilders
become exposed to construction delays and not able to maintain the production
momentum that serve to enhance their reputation in the shipbuilding market to
avoid the risk of rework when the process modular shipbuilding construction
even the process be minimized as possible”, R.Rubesa (2011). This research
using offline questionnaire consist of four structured which is section A, B, C and
D. All workers are selected for these studies are in Shipyard Company from
construction department including manager, engineer, shipbuilder, technician
and others. The number of respondents is 113 as sample including male and
female and was analyzed by using Statistical Package for Social Sciences
(SPSS). The statistical analysis has been done which is Descriptive Statistics
and Inferential Statistics. The analysis under this statistical analysis is ChiSquare Test and reliability of pilot test.
