Abstract:
For the last five years, Malaysia has critically explored the potential of co-curricular activities
to be the one of changing agent in enhancing graduate employability. In 2012, Malaysia
launched the Graduate Employability (GE) Blueprint in order to increase employment
opportunities. Hence, Malaysia introduced iCGPA (integrated cumulative grade point average)
in 2015, which was in line with the Malaysia Education Blueprint 2015 – 2025. iCGPA aims at
producing holistic, entrepreneurial and balanced graduates through co-curricular activities.This
study aims to fill the gap by investigating the employers’ perspectives on the effects of cocurricular activities towards employability. In order to achieve the aims, this research adopted
a quantitative research where by giving questionnaire to the respondents. The finding of this
research show that the most important employability is initiative/self-motivation and career as
the most important for the types of co-curricular activities. Some recommendation of this
research is educational institution should aware towards the participation students in cocurricular activities.
