dc.description.abstract This study examines two types of material, aluminium (AA-5083) and low carbon steel (A-36). In material joining method, there are two types of welding that can be used for combining two or more materials, fusion welding and diffusion welding. The parameters set up for this experiment are temperature, pressure and holding time. All of these variables were analysed from this research. Thus, this study aims on the effect of temperature on impact testing in diffusion welding of marine grade aluminium (AA-5083) and low carbon steel (A-36). Literature review was used as a guidance to identify the suitable parameters, the dimension of specimen used and the other technical data related to diffusion welding before proceeding with the joining process. Five different setting of temperature ware used in this joining process 520°C, 540°C, 560°C, 580°C and 600°C using fixed bonding pressure at 7 MPa and holding time at 60 minutes, under atmospheric pressure condition. The temperature of a furnace was 20°C it was then heated until it reached the temperature sets for each of the experiment. The temperature was soaked for 60 minutes, then the specimens was cooled down in a furnace until the temperature decreased to 20°C. The joining were successful and the result from impact test (Izod) showed that the reading of impact loads from 0.6 until 1.2 Joule. For future study, there are few aspects required to improve the result. en_US
