THE AWARENESS LEVEL OF LORRY DRIVER TOWARDS MALAYSIA’S ENVIRONMENTAL POLLUTION REGULATION (CONTROL OF EMISSION FROM DIESEL ENGINES 1996) AT LUMUT PORT

Abstract

Lorry is important and plays a crucial role in supply chain movement. From raw materials to the finish goods, all the delivering process required a lorry. Which in other words, transportation systems have a great impact towards the population patterns and to the economic development. But the sad things is, despite of all the advantages and good things transport systems especially lorry brings towards our growth of economy, it also bring a negative impacts, the environmental pollution. This issue eventually is not new. With the increasing in number of commercial vehicle registered, this has actually reached the state where transportation activities are a dominant factor behind the environmental pollution. So, this is what the researcher aim to do, to create or increase the level of awareness to the person who drive the lorry. During this research, the researcher will use questionnaires as the method to trigger where is the level of awareness regarding environmental pollution and Malaysia’s current regulation regarding this issue. Other than that, researcher also aims to find what is the factor that influencing the level of awareness among this lorry driver. The result of this study could be use by any authorities as they might know what is the awareness level among lorry driver towards the regulations, so, further step could be taken. This is to make sure that our environment is free from pollution and could benefit the future generations.
