THE OF AWARENESS ON SAFETY CULTURE AMONG SEAFARERS IN JOHOR. A CASE STUDY ON SHIPPING COMPANIES IN PORT OF TANJUNG PELEPAS (PTP)

Abstract

The purpose of this research is to study the seafarers' awareness of safety culture on board. In particular, it aims to determine whether the seafarers' are working on a vessel that applies a high level of safety culture. This research is aimed to know what is the factor that influences the awareness of seafarer in Johor, Malaysia. The complication of this study is the weaknesses still exist among seafarers even though the organization provides variety source of information and regulation to avoid an occurrence of an incident on board.
