THE PERCEPTION OF SCHOOL TEACHER IN JOHOR BAHRU ON SEAFARER AS A CAREER CHOICE

Abstract

This research is about the school teacher perception on seafarer as career choice. Seafarer is not specific to people those working on the ocean going vessels, seafarer also include people those working on inland water way or harbour service boat. Seafarer will help in stabilize economy countries (Malaysia). The main objective for this research is to study level awareness of school teacher in Johor Bahru on seafarer as career choice and to investigate perception of school teacher on seafarer as career choice. The result for this research is has been supported by the survey distributed to the school teacher in Johor Bahru district. The questionnaire were distributed to 105 school teachers. In fact, the question was in positive side,there are many negative feedback received rather than positive. This research to know the level of awareness of school teacher on seafarer as career choice and their perceptions. By doing this research, the researcher hope it can help the government to solve a problem lack of local workers in maritime industry in Malaysia.
