dc.description.abstract A coating paint was used as an alternative adsorbent for the removal of the old surface of the boat from an aqueous solution that can be coated on any surfaces. The coating paint was formulated from a natural adsorbent, binder and a carrier. In the experimental research, the coating paint coated on the interior surface of fiber before tested for adsorption performance. The characterization study of coating paint has been carried out using the chemical compound. Among the tested adsorbents and binders, clay-based adsorbent and water-based binder resulted as the most suitable ingredients for coating paint formula since they performed within a shorter time and gave higher effectiveness of its performance. The mechanism of treatment is based on charge interaction of materials in coating paint. For batch adsorption research, there is some factor that can be uptake by the coating paint to increased performance. en_US
