The main purpose of this study is to design and analyze the preliminary
design of high-speed craft. High-speed craft is a high demand in the maritime
industry, for example, in the operation of offshore structure maintenance, for
search and rescue, for patrol operations, or as vibrant to deliver speed. The
study is designed to create a 15 meters high-speed craft, catamaran type.
Besides, this study is also to evaluates the resistance of the high-speed craft
as well as to achieve maximum speed at 35 knots based on owner
requirement.
The sequence process will be based on the design circle but only focuses
on the initial design stage which includes, First, the development of the hull
form which uses the type of catamaran. Second, hydro static analysis by
designing a waterline of 1 meter. Third, ship structure using DNVGL
classification of rule. Fourth, the power of ship which the maximum speed of
the ship is 35 knots. Fifth, the weight estimates on all parts of the vessel, i.e.
hull, superstructure, equipment, complement, structure, and tank. Sixth,
stability analysis on intact and damage using HSC 2000 code classification of
rule. Seventh, general arrangement.
The result of design and analysis can be the first step in supporting the
Malaysian shipbuilding industry by introducing original local designs, this study
is very important to continue. This study is mainly to be initial step as a future
designer to join the ship design industries. This study would take the ship
design spiral process as a fundamental knowledge to start and end designing
a ship which covers until detail design phase. |
