dc.description.abstract The calculation of free board is very essential in ship design. This is because the free board calculation is calculated to allow maximum legal limit up to which a ship can be loaded. To show the limit, merchant ships usually have a marking on their hulls known as the Plimsoll mark, which will show the maximum allowable number of cargo the ships can be loaded with. In this report, the computational programmer has been developed by simplifying the existing conventional method of free board calculation. The International Load Line Convention 1966 (ILLC 1966) has been a main reference and the process then verified with the actual data obtained from selected classification society. Based on the series of data, corrections factors contributed in the free board calculation can be highlighted and the trend distribution of correction can be discussed individually en_US
