The endless emergent of transportation to accommodate the demands by people has driven most countries into the limits of expanding of their transportation modes. The urbanization of places and transportations may fulfill the needs of economy but at the same time is created a problem that affects the environment. The persistent escalation of transportation has cause the emission level of Greenhouse Gases to increase along. This project will be focusing on determining the major sources of carbon emission from transport such as land transportation and sea transportation. In doing so, the research will be focusing in Langkawi due to the effort of the Malaysian Government to gain the title of low carbon island. Prior to that, this research also will answer three research objectives’ which are to collect the data on number of vehicles and vessels from the selected area, to analyse the data and estimate the distribution of emission and finally to determine the major source of emission from land and sea based transportation. Discussion on the result will be justified and recommendation will be suggested to help future research. |
