The factor for this banning is regarding to the failure of Malaysian fishing vessels in maintaining good quality and sanitary standard of their products such as the unhygienic situation, usage contaminated ice, and unclean landing jetties. This research is carried out to study the quantity of fishing vessels in Perak which comply with the European Union (EU) standard and to identify the problems faced on Malaysian fishing vessels that do not comply with the European standard since the banned issue. A specification review of Malaysian fishing vessel in Perak was being conducted in selected locations in Manjung, Kerian and Hilir Perak.
