dc.description.abstract Orthogonal Frequency-Diversity Multiplexing, short formed as OFDM has been introduced in 1960s conceptually. It is developed to meet the increasing demand of higher data rates transmission. OFDM became a popular scheme which being used for digital television and audio broadcasting, wireless networking and broadband internet access. These features are suitable to be applying in Global Maritime Distress and Safety System (GMDSS) scheme which GMDSS devices operated currently is lack in high speed channel network. This research study review on performances of OFDM and its principles which then it will be medium for designing MATLAB software so that GMDSS scheme will fit with today’s high speed data requirement en_US
