dc.description.abstract Offshore shipbuilding is a part of the broad arena of shipping industry where the growing demands of oil & gas, offshore exploration and other offshore activities with increasing investment in modernization of oil platform infrastructure is expected to drive the offshore support vessel market. These industries need vessels that are highly customized and can meet special requirements on design and construction for serving in challenging conditions. The type of vessels produced by this offshore shipbuilding industry include anchor handling and tug supply vessel (AHTS), platform supply vessels (PSV) and multi-purpose offshore support vessels (MPOSV) to name a few. en_US
