dc.description.abstract Waves are basically the movement of water molecules within the ocean, and are restricted to the surface layers of our oceans and seas. A wave can be transverse or longitudinal depending on the direction of its oscillation. Instead of studying the behavior of the motion of the ocean in the presence of waves, it is usually preferable to use the small scale models in laboratories. A wave tank is a laboratory setup for observing the behavior of surface waves. Fully nonlinear wave body interactions for a stationary floating structure under regular and irregular waves for different water depths, wave heights and wave periods is examined through laboratory experiments. en_US
