REGIONAL ANALYSIS ON SAFETY AWARENESS TOWARDS FISHERMAN IN PERLIS

Abstract

The research is done mainly to study the regional analysis on safety awarenes towards fishermen in Perlis which is Kula Perlis, Simpang Empat, Arau and Padang Besar and to study analyze the statistic data accident of fishermen. Many fishermen, while accepting that fishing is dangerous, staunchly defend their independence. Moreover many proposed laws and additional regulation to increase safety have been defeated because fishermen oppose them. Many of the hardships they endure include isolated fishing grounds, high winds, seasonal darkness, very cold water, icing, and shorter fishing seasons, where very long work days are the norm. The hazardous working conditions faced by fishermen have a strong impact on their safety.
