Title: Design of Hydraulic Circuit and Jig Attachment at Conventional Lathe Machine Spindle
Authors: Mohammad Elliyas Bin Abu Bakar
Issue Date: 10-Dec-2014
Abstract: This report explains in detail the methodology used for design hydraulic circuit and jig attachment at the lathe machine. In this project, the researchers have 3 objectives that should be achieved:-  To design suitable hydraulic circuit diagram that will operate lathe machine spindle.  To design appropriate jigs for hydraulic motor attachment at the lathe machine spindle  To develop hydraulic circuit study kit for education purpose base on application. The methodology consists of gathering information of the hydraulic system and jig, planning the project flow and process, and design process. The information gather from the primary resource which through the observation, survey and interview few expertise or experience technical person. While, secondary resource is from the previous research, books, journals, and website application. From the information, the flow and process of the project was started. In process of designing, Solidworks 2010 was used to design the jigs and frame of hydraulic part from the design of part until the assembly. For designing of hydraulic circuit, the Automation Studio software is the one of the software that was selected to provide hydraulic diagram before it come into analyze the flow of the circuit. Besides that, to make the project as an educational purpose for student, the user manual and sampling method at the hydraulic part will providing as a guide and also can counter the problem of lag in understanding of hydraulic system through application. The design considerations of the fixture design issues are discussed in this project. xii The results of the objective in this research have showed in below:-  A functional and suitable hydraulic circuit for running the conventional lathe machine spindle.  Appropriate jig attachment and base frame for the hydraulic parts.  Set of Hydraulic system as study kit for future reference.
