Title: Improve Air Quality Of Super Puma AS332 Helicopter By Reducing The Hot Air In The Cabin Using Snap Vent

Abstract: This project is focus on the study of benefit of snap vent and a mock-up of snap vent to help understand clearly of how the snap vent works. Snap vent was very important in providing better air circulation inside helicopter cabin. There were many types of snap vents which have their own uses according to the operation of helicopter. A lot of complaint received from helicopter aviation industry, example Malaysian Helicopter Services (MHS). The complaint related of less quantity of snap vent installed on Helicopter Super Puma AS332 which lead to uncomfortable inside the cabin such as bad odor and less air circulation flowing into the cabin during offshore flight. A lot of study about helicopter air circulation had been done which related to cabin heat loading and cabin air innovative which improve air quality in aircraft cabin. Lot of study on different types of snap vent also had been done. Different type of snap vent have their own different uses as found out after the study. Planning on completing this thesis was very important. This was related to the time interval to complete within 18 weeks. Planning did help in smoothing the work progress. This thesis did compare between snap vent and air conditioning system installed on helicopter. The comparison was used to identify the benefit of using snap vent instead of aircond. The mock-up was used providing better understanding of how snap vent works visually. The mock-up was tested after finish manufactured. The result of the testing was the most important thing which provide data about snap vent. The conclusion of the snap vent was, snap vent did help in providing better air circulation inside helicopter cabin.
