Issue Date: 7-Oct-2014
Abstract: This thesis present a development of robotic arm that based on the servo motor and dc motor where the robotic arm controlled by servomotor and the gripper is controlled by dc motor. The servo motor and dc motor is suitable for controlling a robotic arm because easy to get and easy be maintenance. However the application of robotic arm is rarely seen in the daily life it’s always use in industry. So the decision is make where this project is to implement the usage of robotic arm in daily life. The first step to reach this stage is by helping the disable people. This is because disable people has a very shortage of movement especially wheel chair user and some more reasoned this project is chose is because the facility for them at the place like shopping mall and other place is to less so they has difficulty of reaching a high object. To solve their problem the project called development of robotic arm attach to the wheel chair is done. Where this project is about controlling the robotic arm that put in front of the trolley that attach to the wheel chair. To move the robotic arm servo motor and dc motor is use to move the robotic arm. And for the controller for the servo motor the timer 555 and potential meter is use to control the servo motor movement. For the gripper its controller is double pole and double throw relay that control a grip or release. The power supply for this project is 12v dc battery and the voltage control by the 6v voltage regulator that give supply to servo motor, dc motor and the other parts that will mention in this thesis.
