Title: The Development of Smart Grass Cutter

Abstract: Smart grass cutter is the product that can be functional without using manual handling. The idea to design this project based on the problem encountered by an ordinary cutting grass machine. From observation, an ordinary Cutting Grass Machine needs to be push in order for the machine to move and it needs more energy and also wasting of time to handle it. Therefore, the objective of smart grass cutter is to develop a smart grass cutter system by applying PIC Microcontroller. The PIC is the brain for this machine which is it will burned with programmed and the output will be controlled based on the programmed design. Second is to develop new technologies in cutting grass machine that could help decreasing the air pollution. This project will be used a battery as a power source and it will not involved with oil or diesel system that could damaged the environment. Lastly is to build a prototype that could function without produced a strong noise to the environment. This machine will not obtain a noise as conventional machine since it is just used an electronic motor. The process of this machine is it used an analog distance sensor that will sense an obstacle in front of that machine. Whenever it has an obstacle it will stop and turn back and move forward to cut a grass while if not have an obstacle it will move forward to start their task. This product will be developed by designing and constructing a simple PV board, testing Proteus software and hardware, troubleshoot any problems that might occur and analyze result of tested. The application for this machine is it can be used for small grass such as football field, golf field, garden, landscape and private house. The “SMART GRASS CUTTER” offers many advantages such as lighter and smaller, less supervision or observation, less air pollution and safer than the conventional version of cutting grass machine.
