Abstract: This project describes the design and development of pico-hydro generation system (less than 5 kW generation capacities) using the energy of flowing rain water apply for the plant watering system. The rain water will be flowing down from the rooftop during raining day and store it into water tank to produce more pressure. From this method, water flow from higher water tank has more kinetic energy to rotate a small scale of hydro turbine to drive a generator for electrical power generation. The turbine (Pelton turbine) changes the flow and pressure of water from kinetic energy to mechanical energy. The turbine turns a generator and produce electrical energy for load and energy storage (battery charger). Regarding on the generator, an ordinary table fan motor has been converted into a generator by implement the magnetic field and magnetic flux concept. The results were show that 4 pole generator (4 magnet) is more efficient than 2 pole generator (2 magnet) during operation. The water from the process also can be reused for agriculture plant, and also another routine activity such as bath, laundry, toilet wash and many more application. This system shows the best methods to perform an efficient of watering plant for domestic and industry agriculture. Behind that, it also provides cheap efficient, reliable and green technology generated energy.
