In our fast moving materialistic world, people need to modernize and progress themselves. The world population is increasing faster and also the people with disabilities (PWD) ratio. They face barriers at their each turn and they need some helpers in their daily works. The assistive device acts as a boon for them. The most widespread assistive device is the wheelchair. All over the world, the usage rate of people with wheelchairs is nearly 3.3 million. Several researches are done for the people who uses wheelchair and various papers deal about it. The aim of this paper is to design and control of electronic wheelchair. Electronic wheelchairs extend the capabilities of traditional powered devices by introducing control using PIC Microcontroller and radio frequency module. An experimental set-up constructed, which consists of microcontroller PIC16F877A as controller, a DC motor driven electronic wheelchair and feedback elements. These devices can ease the lives of many disabled people, particularly those with severe impairments, by increasing their range of mobility. This report describes ongoing work towards the ultimate aim of an intelligent and useful device.en_US
