Title: Permeability Of Biofiber (Kenaf) Via Vacuum Infusion
Authors: Siti Fatihah Binti Suskri
Issue Date: 28-May-2014
Abstract: The purpose of this research is to study the permeability of Kenaf/epoxy composite and to compare the analytical and experimental of permeability. The problem that facing by manufacturer is, there are a lots of manufacturing process time had been decreasing due to the development of simulation programming. Therefore, in order to create simulation of the vacuum infusion process or resin transfer molding, the permeability of dry fiber is needed. The technique that is used to fabricate in this study is vacuum infusion process. There were two types of biofiber were used in this project which are Kenaf and Fiberglass. The research more focuses on Kenaf material only .Second method of the research is by using Darcy’s Law. Based on the Darcy’s law equation, the permeability can be determined. As conclusion, the best method of composite is by using vacuum infusion process where the process is based on the permeability analysis.
