dc.description.abstractThe intent of this project is to give an overview of the place of doing the research, understand the pressure bulkhead and apply it or demonstrate the analysis of the pressure bulkhead in Abaqus CAE software. Reducing structural weight is one of the major ways to improve aircraft performance. Lighter and or stronger materials allow greater range and speed and may also contribute to reducing operational costs.Nowadays composite materials are widely used in ―primary‖ structural components such as fuselage, for which contrasting requirements like lightness and structural strength are required, so particular attention is necessary during its design. In this paper a linear and thermal stress analysis was examined. The front and aft bulkhead is made of a composite skin, stiffened with seven vertical stiffeners linked through metallic fittings; the whole system is joined to the fuselage by rivets. A linear static stress analysis was performed to calculate strains in particular points in which strain gauges or rosettes are placed: the numerical results, compared with experimental ones, show a good degree of correlation. Stress calculations were performed in order to verify the rear bulkhead structural safety. Because of developments in world aviation, technology becomes more sophisticated and requires more energy expert. As an aircraft maintenance engineer, should be prepared with adequate knowledge and skills to do the work maintenance, servicing and repair. The project is all about the implementation of knowledge acquired by us in the maintenance process taught in the Bachelor of Engineering Aeroplane Technology course. To achieve the objective of the project, an actual study of basic of the linear stress analysis and Abaqus. This study helps us to gain more knowledge about the pressure bulkhead and Abaqus CAE software as a preparation for us in taking a license and applied in the industry. We have done lots of research and practices to enhance our knowledge in the research and application of software Abaqus as it really needs us to be more provision in that’s an actual fully serviceable.en_US
