metadata.fyp.dc.description.abstract: Body armour vest is a protection gear wear by arm forces to protect them against gun fire. The development of armour vest has been long since late middle ages where knights and warrior wear steel clothing to protect them against swords and knives. Today, body armour vest design is very sophisticated. A lightweight flexible armour vest is able to protect one against gun shot. How is the lightweight vest able to resist impact such as gun shot projection? The secret lies in the material construction. Each and every layer of materials in the armour vest has different functions and capability. Mainly the objective is to stop projectile from penetrating the last layer of the vest. This project will show about the study of design of body armour vest in scope of ballistic resistance. One of the objectives is to find the best possible design to protect user from projectiles. Other than that is to reduce the cost of fabrication by introducing natural fibre material to armour vest.
