Abstract: Nowadays many restaurants and commercial places are competing in satisfying customers by making them comfortable, therefore the objective of this project is to create an extension roofing & lighting system that can increase comfort at their place. This system will be operated fully automatic. This project was classified into three major parts. First is the input, it is consists of light dependent resistor (LDR) to measure the level of environment brightness, next is the rain sensor to indentify either it is raining or not. Second is the processor unit (Atmel 8051) to process the signal given by input and produce the output. Lastly is output, it consists of light (LED) and motor. Light will switch on or off when it received the signal from processor that process the input given by LDR and the function of the motor is to drive external roof to open when it is raining and closed in a good day, it obtain the signal from rain sensor that process by processor. This project can also be classified as green technology, it is because it used solar energy to recharge the main supply and it’s good for our environment.
