Authors: Fahmi Bin Sofian
Issue Date: 13-Dec-2013
Abstract: The project is designed and developed to offer to motorcyclist a protector that can give a full protection to their motorcycle seat. This project is a new idea that introduces a new concept on how to protect motorcycle seat (focus on the surface and the material of the seat) by giving a full protection from any possibilities that potential to reduce the lifespan of the motorcycle seat. Based on survey and study, most of motorcyclists are having problem with motorcycle seat, especially the uncovered and unprotected seat. Without any protection, it will cause the hot seat when directly exposed to sun rays, wet seat during raining, or scratch/leak/crack/fragile to its material due to environment, animals or tools. The invention is provided a protector made from polyurethane elastomer material as the shield. It is an automatic protector that can be operated by only pressing a button. After the button is pressed, the protector will be pushed out from the box case that installed to the grab bar. By pressing it again, it will be pulled in into the box case. The box case is designed for easy install and uninstall. Therefore, the objective of this project is to protect the motorcycle seat, by providing a portable and maximum protection to motorcycle seat. By using this product, it will help rider to increase motorcycle seat lifespan, in the same it will reduce the maintenance cost on the seat.
