Abstract: Achieving high rate of performance is one of the organization aims, especially under the pressure of competition. In respond to these conditions, various industrial engineering and quality management strategies are implemented in automotive industry. One of new paradigm in manufacturing strategies is DMAIC Six Sigma Methodology. The Six Sigma approach has been increasingly adopted worldwide in the manufacturing sector in order to enhance productivity and quality performance and to make the process robust to quality variation. This paper presents the implementation of DMAIC Six Sigma Methodology in automotive industry. The highest percentage of defect part is selected to be identified further. Cause and effect diagram was built to identify the root cause of the defect. It is found that burr at thread is the major defect and contributes 45.71%. Finally, the study achieved up to sigma 3.54σ.
