Abstract: The present experimental work shows the study on micro hardness related to the flank wear in turning of titanium alloy Ti6Al4V under dry condition with uncoated micro grain tungsten carbide tool. Two cutting speed have been used in this experiment which is 100 and 125 m/min where each speed using 0.8 and 1.0 mm depth of cut while feed rate 0.1 and 0.125 mm/rev . The surface of titanium alloy is easily damaged during machining operations due to their poor machinability. Surface integrity is one of the most relevant parameters used for evaluating the quality of finish machined surfaces. Micro hardness alteration was observed when machining with the dull tool. Flank wear is monitored and measured after a certain length of cutting path until wear reaches the permissible tool wear 0.3 mm.
