metadata.conference.dc.description.abstract: Smart card technology has been widely used around the world in a variety of applications due to it has an effective security features, can be used in a variety of functions and are classified as cost-effective tools. Based on the benefits offered by smart card technology, it becomes a preferred based system to be applied. In the current system of blood donation, the donor's profile and history of blood donation recorded in the red book in which it will become an important document before performing a blood donation. Furthermore, existing systems also disseminate information or a blood donation campaign through websites, social networking and media electronics platforms. To eliminate this donor system of paper- based records and to disseminate information directly to the target users, this project explores a web-based system that utilizes the smart card technology and emphasizes the dissemination of information using short message service and e- mail messaging. In this study, client-server model architecture has been implemented. The proposed system provides identification and enhanced services provided by the system functions.
