dc.description.abstract | Air conditioning use about 60% of the total energy consumption in a commercial building. Therefore selection of air conditioning system is significant for a building to match the criteria such as cooling load, building design, maintenance, total cost and energy usage. As a result, an efficient system can be achieved by optimize the system of air conditioning from conventional direct expansion system (split unit) to centralize system (air cooled chiller). Air-cooled chillers are utilizing a process of evaporation and condensation within a closed system to chill the surrounding air. Typically, such devices are used for large industrial purposes, as they are more energy efficient, easy to maintain and suitable to support a large capacity for a building than traditional Freon-powered direct expansion system. This study is to compare between conventional direct expansions systems (split unit) and centralize system (air cooled chiller) | en_US |
