Authors: Alif Asyraf Bin Zaida
Issue Date: 26-Jan-2003
Abstract: The fuel consumption is one of the highly concern by the people in today pricy world. One of the solutions in the market which is using the fuel additive that can provide some advantages to the vehicle performances although it is very expensive. Therefore, certain people tend to find an alternative solution in the cheaper way as it can provide similar purpose as commercial fuel additive. The purpose of this research is to investigate the possibility of naphthalene in the mothball that can be an alternative fuel additive for piston engine. This research is to investigate by several methods of testing to verify the possibility of the naphthalene from the mothball to become fuel additive. This research is focused on testing the chemical property which is flammability. The result of investigation is obtain after the mothball have been mixed with gasoline and undergo the testing during testing period.
