The water quality consists of several parameter to determine the WQI which are Salinity, pH, Dissolved oxygen, Temperature and Total dissolved solid. The usage of antifouling paint in the maritime industry to prevent the growth of marine organisms and corrosion has raised concerns. The application of antifouling paint results in the release of antifouling paint particles (APPs) into the water, negatively impacting water quality. This issue may be relevant to Sungai Manjung in Perak, where various maritime activities such as port operations and vessel maintenance take place. The objective of this study was to determine the water quality index and examine the trend of natural antifouling methods. The significance of water quality management is emphasized, and the water quality index (WQI) model is proposed as a tool for evaluating water quality data. Environmentally friendly alternatives for antifouling coatings are recommended. While the importance of using antifouling paint to prevent corrosion is recognized, it is crucial to acknowledge its adverse effects on water quality due to the spread of APPs. The CCME WQI calculation and DOE Malaysia standard are employed to assess water quality. This study aims to provide the most up-to-date water quality index for Sungai Manjung and examine the trend of natural antifouling methods with various additive applications. The findings reveal that Sungai Manjung's water quality is poor according to the CCME WQI.en_US
