Abstract: This chapter explores the current legal framework on Halal meat supply chain activities in Malaysia, and identifies the factors influencing an efficient enforcement process by the legal agencies in the Halal meat industry. This research refers to previous literature reviews and newspaper articles as the source of data for references with the aim of connecting the relationship between Halal meat, Halal integrity, current issues on violation of Halal integrity and legal enforcement. Based on the data, the analysis result shows the main challenges faced by the officers in their day-to-day Halal meat enforcement activities are, among others, lack of experience, lack of manpower and lack of enforcement knowledge in criminal matters. Based on the analysis results, the findings discuss ways to overcome the situation: first, the individual officers must gain relevant knowledge by taking the relevant legal training and education in relation to investigation and prosecution. In addition, with the correct leadership attitude, it encourages them to gather experience during the investigation. These are the skills the responsible officers must have in order to ensure the protection of Halal meat supply chain. Finally, taking into account these factors, an enhancement on the legal process framework is proposed to ensure an efficient and effective legal enforcement of the Halal meat supply chain.
