Abstract: In the construction of vessels, repair welding is an essential skill because vessel usually used in areas where it can make a damage to the ship's system or structure, such as corrosion or impact. Studies on repetitive welding typically focus on the impact of numerous repairs on the joint's mechanical characteristics and residual stresses, particularly for these sectors. Occasionally, residual tensions cause a large amount of plastic deformation, which causes an object to twist and distort. Research has aim on the repair welding activities have the potential to exacerbate the residual stress and ductility situation in a joint. Material that will be used in this is Aluminium 5803. The parameters use in this research is based on ASTM B557 and ASTM E8. Data for ultimate tensile strength (UTS), yield strength and elongation (%) will be carried out using Universal Tensile Machine (UTM). Then, the result will be recorded and analyse if Aluminium suitable to be repair weld more than 1 times.
